The FIFA’s President, who visited Guinea-Bissau for the first time, had working meetings with members of the Guinean Federation’s Executive Committee and the associated football agents in Bissau.
At Osvaldo Vieira International Airport Infantino said that Guinea-Bissau “is now the soccer capital of the world”, receiving a visit from the FIFA president who hopes to continue working for the development of the sport.
Gianni Infantino praised the way the Guinean football team has been playing on the African stage but highlighted the need to build infrastructures.
He said that the “good financial situation” of FIFA, there is an intention to look more at the emerging countries in football.
The president of the Guinean football federation, Manuel Nascimento Lopes, considered that Guinea Bissau is on the side of Gianni Infantino, from whom he expects support to continue the various projects to create football infrastructures in the country.
